Foster & Sear is also a proud supporter of brownfield conservation and restoration.

Founder J. Burl Foster, now 71 years young, created the Foster Lawfirm in 1965 and is now semi-retired devoting most of his time to ocean conservation.  He has given millions of dollars to conservation issues.  In 2010, he has agreed to give the largest ranch inside the City of Los Angeles to the California Conservancy.  Mr. Foster has funded Brownfield clean-up sites throughout the USA working with Erin Brockovich.  He has funded Downwinders which monitors emissions from cement kilns in Texas  He is working with the carp invasion of the Great Lakes and has recently outfitted a 57 foot LCM stationed in Marsh Harbor after diving this summer in the Abacos and seeing lionfish eating all the reef fish and crawfish.  Mr. Foster dives in the Abacos three months each year living on his boat.  He has had boats in Marsh Harbor for over twenty-five years.  After reading reports from Dr. Hixon, Mr. Foster decided to take action on what he feels will destroy the Bahamian reefs unless this invader is stopped.  He has agreed to fund Two Million Dollars immediately hoping to bring all parties together pooling their knowledge and expertise in finding some method to eradicate this killer.  Paul Baker, a retired businessman and jet pilot, has been assigned to operate the LCM and work with Dr. Hixon and all other parties to find a solution.  Time is of the essence dealing with this Reef Killer!
